I use vivid, mouth-watering colour to create bold compositions in oil pastels & oils. The shapes of trees and mountains,the shadows they cast, the sensuous hues of fruits and vegetables, the way light plays across their surfaces - each element adds its own character and energy.

New Mexico provides all of this in its' landscape. I've spent countless hours roaming the mountains & deserts here, on foot, on bike, in all weather. What I strive to achieve is the essence of this land or an object - the feeling of space and open, unlimited possibilities. I want to catch the playfulness in those trees that dot a hillside, in the lines of nectarines and plates, in the colours inside light & shadow. Whether it's fruits and bowls, or trees and sky, I seek boldness in composition ,and colour that excites the senses.
